Old Town, San Diego, California


OLD TOWN, San Diego, sometimes called the birthplace of California, was settled in 1769 by the Spanish. Here the first California mission was established. The town has many historical shrines - the Plaza where the American colors went up on July 29, 1846, "Ramona's Marriage Place," Junipero Serra Museum, and site of old Fort Stockton.
