DescriptionDaniel Wadsworth made the drawing on which this lithograph was based in the autumn of 1827. Published as illustration to Daniel Wadsworth, "Illustrations of a View taken from the Upper Falls of the Genesee River," in The American Journal of Science and Arts. Ed. Benjamin Silliman. Vol. 18.2 (July 1830) : frontispiece.

The drawing was reproduced twice by Pendleton's. The second version is signed by "Miss. C. S." (Charlotte Scollay). The exact relationship and precedence of the two versions is unclear.

The MFA owns three impressions of this print, each with slight differences in lettering and attribution.
