DescriptionCircular medal of Otto Weddingen (1882-1915), captain-lieutenant of German U-boat.
Obverse: Frontal bust of Otto Weddigen looking slightly to the proper right, wearing a hat; inscribed at edge "KAPITÄNLEUTNANT OTTO WEDDIGEN".
Reverse: A German cross and an olive branch above a naval boat at sea; inscribed above "DEM ANDENKEN DES HELDENMUTIGEN FÜHRERS" and in exergue "S.M.UNTERSBEBOOTE/U9 UND U29".
