DescriptionMan's boots of light gray-white leather upper and sole with appliquéd white leather bands, decorative piece on instep; tops slashed in leaf motif and border; butted seams. Olive green silk velvet under slashes with white silk lining. These boots, possibly theater or fancy dress, made in the style of late 16th century (see: Davenport, Book of Costume 2, p.565, fig. 1480).
