DescriptionRectangular panel from flat pocketbook. Polychrome silk and silver metallic threads brocaded on gold metallic ground. Silver brocading is figured. Motif is hunting scene in wooded setting. Left to right: horse tied to tree, seated woman, birds flying and in trees, man on horse with hounds hunting deer. Gilt-galloon binding. Lining of pale yellow/green silk embroidered with polychrome silk and metallic yarns in floral motif (two pieces sewn together). Layer of thin blue cardboard in between the lining and brocaded panel.
