Circular medal of Philippe I (1640–1701), duke of Orléans (1640–1701) and first general, commemorating Louis XIV naming him Genearlissimo of the army (1672).
Obverse: Bust of Philippe looking to proper left; inscribed at edge “PHILIPPVS FRANC·FILIVS LVD·MAG·FRA VNIC·” and under bust “WARIN”.
Reverse: At center, a bomb, represented as a half-sphere emitting flames over a city-scape; inscribed above “ALTER POST FVLMINA TERROR”.
Obverse: Inscribed at edge "PHILIPPVS FRANC·FILIVS LVD·MAG·FRA VNIC·" and under bust "WARIN".
Reverse: Inscribed above "ALTER POST FVLMINA TERROR".
