DescriptionPanel for screen or valance of silk tapestry-weave with design of story of the Three Kingdoms. Main field: two men seated at tables and their retainers watching a duel within an encampment surrounded by battling groups of mounted and unmounted warriors; meeting between Chinese and Nomadic generals; Upper field: God with bag of tricks throwing out swords against advancing warriors; narrow band separating top and bottom field has design of various good luck symbols, including scrolls and coins; border on four sides with flower and vine motif. Possibly a scene from the Peking Opera. Imitation of Ming textiles with some details painted in with ink. Good condition.
