DescriptionThe ground is of white silk. The design of pairs of birds, standing on scrolls and face to face, leaves and fruit is woven with strong pink, violet, green and gold. On two sides are borders with undulating gold bands. The yellow silk foundation shows through in places. Much worn. Lined with yellow silk. "Greek(?), Russian(?), Italian(?) 16th century."
