The ground and the design are both woven with yellow silk. The design is an adaptation of that of the typical Italian 15th century velvet, in which is a leaf form made up of reversed curved enclosing a group of conventional flowers. In this piece, which is similar to 96.528 in design, the large leaf forms connected by long branches and crowns are introduced. For the complete design see 96.528.
