DescriptionWhite ground blue underglaze decoration in Chinese manner. Border divided and decorated with plant-life and figures. Center trees rocks and bird etc., rim painted brown. Underneath border has border decoration of leaves and flowers and base center with floral decoration.
Marks Crossed swords with dot underglaze blue. Incised "20".
ProvenanceAugust 22, 1944, probably sold by the Art Exchange, New York, NY to Forsyth Wickes (b.1876-d.1964), New York and Newport, RI; 1965, bequest of Forsyth Wickes to the MFA. (Accession Date: December 24, 1965)
