DescriptionRectangular double pocketbook. White silk satin embroidered with polychrome silk, gold metallic thread, colored and gold metal spangles, thin striped silk ribbon. Scrolling Rococo floral design on both exterior panels, flowers are spangles; inscribed SOU/VENIR center front; heart design center back. Spangle shapes include: circles, stars, flowers, leaves. Embroidery stitches include: chain stitch, laid and couched, satin stitch, split stitch. Gilt-galloon and purple (now brown) silk binding. White silk damask lining with floral and lattice motif. Two interior compartments lined with mustard-colored silk. Cardboard foundation. Salmon/green/black/white silk ribbon with stripe/leaf motif attached to bottom center of back panel.
