The name “Kenshin Daishi” was posthumously awarded in 1876 to Shinran (1173-1263), the founder of the Jôdo Shinshû sect of Japanese Buddhism.
The last two word of the title, “Jiu Goei,” could also be read “Shigure Mikage.”
