DescriptionWashington stands atop a pedestal flanked by flags and trophies, in front of a view of a fort defending a harbor, beneath a large arch supported by columns and flanked by obelisks. Various other symbols, etc. Motto across the top reads, "Sic Transit Gloria Mundi!" with garlands and a central wreath containing an account of his passing. This is flanked by a eulogy. Motto across the bottom reads "But all is not lost for providence survives." To the left in small print appears "Printed and published at Glasgow by C.G. 1819" Black ink on a cotton ground.
