The raised circular bowl has a caulked rim. It rests on a raised spreading domed foot constructed of two pieces with an applied wire rim.


ARMORIALS: on either side, the arms and crest of Gore, for Sir Ralph Gore, (1725-1802) of Manor Gore, co. Donegal.
INSCRIPTIONS: engraved in banner around side: "The Great match Run on the Curragh of Kildare Sepr. 5th 1751 for a 1000 Guineas by Black & all Black the property of Sr. Ralph Gore Bart. & Bajezet ye. Property of ye. Rt. Honble. y Earl of March won with ease by ye. former"; scratched on underside "124-10".
