DescriptionIntaglio. Flat on both sides with a very slight inward back bezel. Victory, on tip-toe facing left. Her wings, which emerge from her shoulders have very long end feathers that reach almost to the ground. She holds a wreath in her left and a scepter or branch, possibly meant to be a palm frond, in her right hand. Both the wreath and the branch are very faintly carved.
ProvenanceTell Dafana (Daphnae). 1886: excavated by William Matthew Flinders Petrie for the Egypt Exploration Fund, assigned to the EEF by the Egyptian government; presented to the MFA at EEF fifth annual general meeting; sent over June 1, 1887.
