One from a set of four cast trencher salts. The shaped oval base has scrollingforming the supports. The rim is of molded quatrefoil shape and the interior is silver gilt. There is a mostly erased crest on the side.

Inscription

Maker's Mark: a crowned fleur-de-lis, two graind, AM, a Maltese cross (Dennis,248). Warden's Mark: 1760-1761: a crowned V (Dennis, 156). Charge Mark: proba bly for large work, 1756-1762: a crowned A (Dennis, 156).
