SANTA BARBARA MISSION Founded in 1786, was the 10th mission to be established on the Pacific Coast. Although its buildings have been damaged at various times by earthquakes, the candles which were lighted on the day of its founding have never ceased to burn. The Stations of the Cross were brought from Mexico in 1797.
