Scarabs and scaraboids

Orange-red carnelian. Scarab with flat, oval base engraved in intaglio; pierced lengthwise. Man seated on a rock in profile to left, holding a staff. Irregular hatched border. Crude ‘a globolo’ technique. Back carved as a beetle with a flat profile. Two lines outline the thorax and head. One line splitting near the thorax divides the elytra. Winglets indicated with a chevron and a line. Plastic and hatched legs.
