Scarabs and scaraboids

Reddish orange sardonyx with white bands. Scarab with a flat, oval base engraved in intaglio; pierced lengthwise. Warrior in ¾ frontal view bending over a sword at right. His right arm holds a shield behind his back. Cable border. ‘A globolo’ technique. Back carved as a beetle with a hatched line separating the thorax and elytra. A single line divides the latter. A chevron indicates a winglet on each side. Plastic but schematic legs. Undecorated plinth. Very worn beetle. Chips missing near the stringholes.
