DescriptionShawl of plain-weave cotton with design (appears on both sides of cloth) of red central field covered with small repeating rows of floral buta motifs and boteh in pink, blue and white with floral spray base set obliquely in each corner; central field is surrounded by border of repeating lozenge design in reds, pink, blue and white; deep border on each crosswise end of row of four large boteh composed of flowers in red, blue and green on a pink ground; three outer borders with small buta and blossom motif; fringe on each crosswise end. On one end is an exteded rectangular section, devoid of fringe, bearing the date (1858) and other characters in Arabic script.
