Part of a set of at least nine known examples which can be tracade back to Samuel Pickering Gardner (1767-1843) and subsequently descended in his family until the twentieth century; the museum's examples (see also 1981.16) were in the private collection of Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Bybee by 1968; given by an anonymous collector in 1981 (Accession Date January 14, 1981)
