Seating and beds

Small side or reception chair with ebonized finish, gilt striping, and crest rail inlaid with light-wood marquetry flowers; trellis-work back; seat upholstered over the rails; straight front and rear stretchers; side stretchers at seat level with shaping and three pierced holes; front legs with ring turning above tapered form; plain, raked rear legs.


Early history unknown; inherited by the donor in June 1979 from his mother, Ann B. Beers; given in 1996 by Cameron and Charlotte Beers, Needham, Massachusetts.
