Slip cover for back of wing chair; plain weave linen embroidered with wool crewels in scrolling vine pattern with flowers, pines, buds, leaves, and strawberries. Stems in chain stitch in various shades of blue-green and green. Flower blossoms, buds and leaves in New England Laid stitch (Roumanian Couching); a few of these elements in satin stitch; pink-red strawberries in New England Laid stitch (Roumanian Couching) couched with white threads; yellow centers of some blossoms in French knots. Seams trimmed with linen tape woven in floral and dot pattern with extra blue patterning warps.
