DescriptionThis is a circular (with slightly squared edges) spindle whorl or weight shaped from a fragment of a black-topped red polished pottery vessel. It has a hole drilled through roughly at the center.
ProvenanceFrom Kerma, K I (Lower Deffufa), Room B 1. 1913: excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA in the division of finds by the government of the Sudan.
