DescriptionThis wooden figurine portrays a female offering bearer striding forward, carrying a basket on her head and two birds in her right hand. The arms and feet are made of separate pieces of wood and attached to the body with dowels.
ProvenanceFrom Asyut, Tomb 6. 1903: excavated by Emile Gaston Chassinat and Charles Palanque for the Institut francais d'archeologie orientale, Cairo; 1904: purchased for the MFA by Albert M. Lythgoe.
