DescriptionEmbroidered. Cream watered silk ground; stalk and flowers in polychrome silks and gold and silver metal thread. Straight flat stitch, stem stitch, and bullion knots. Gold galloon around edges of seven tabs at bottom, and across top. Backed with linen cloth. Good condition; most of the metallic thread preserved.
ProvenanceSaid to have been worn by Jane Middlecot (1682-1743), wife of Elisha Cooke II (1678-1737).
