Pieced through center vertically. Ground: cream linen cloth. At sides extra pieces are sewed on. Design: 3 tapestry bands (.075 wide) (of red, yellow, blue, green and black silk and cream linen) separated by the ground material. Row of yellow connected ovals (joined by small rondels containing bird). Ovals enclose rabbit or affronted birds on red, green, or blue ground. Interstices filled with green or blue triangles (with tiny red and cream rondel at the apex). Above and below each band is line of imitation Kufic writing (.01 high) in cream, decorated with green and yellow palmettes on red ground. Narrow blue stripe on outside. Separating the bands is a line of blue imitation Kufic (.03 high) decorated with yellow and green palmettes; woven on the ground material. Stained at left; several holes.
