DescriptionThis vessel is made of a whitish colored glass with a green-blue tinge, and is now dulled and weathered with some visible encrustation. The body of the vessel is bulbous with a flattened bottom. It has a long, cylindrical neck that narrows slightly at the mouth, which has a pronounced flattened rim. It likely once held perfumes or oils.
ProvenanceSaid to be from the vicinity of Tyre [see note 1]. By 1892, Michel Farah; 1893, sold by Michel Farah to the MFA for $800 [note 2]. (Accession date: January 3, 1893)
