DescriptionObverse: Cista mystica from which serpent emerges left. Ivy-wreath around.
Reverse: Bow-case containing bow and ornamented with aplustre, flanked each side by coiled serpent, head raised.
At right, staff entwined by serpent.
Inscription in Greek and monograms.
ProvenanceFrom a hoard (MFA 65.62-65.99) found in 1960 at Çesme; 1960: purchased from a Greek dealer on behalf of MFA by Cornelius C. Vermeule III; purchased by MFA from Cornelius C. Vermeule III, February 10, 1965
