DescriptionPanel, made of two pieces sewn together; curved at one end. Crimson satin ground with bow-shaped weft float figures imitating slashings, brocaded with polychrome silks. Pattern shows twisted undulating shaded yellow ribbon entwined with blue and green feathers and branches of small white blossoms. Selvedges along both sides. A few small holes. Several dark blue ink stains along shorter side.
ProvenanceAcquired in Europe, probably Vienna, from Niel (dealer) by Adolph Loewi, Los Angeles; 1958, sold by Loewi to the MFA for $120. (Accession Date: January 9, 1958)
