Kept with Anonymous. Probably made for Richard Ovey, a London linen draper who commissioned designs from various printworks and sold them at his shop in Covent Garden.


Verso, across top, in brown ink: A capital pattern and drawn with great taste cut it and print the first piece on / 9/8 cloth as a proof to Mr. Ovey (who provided this well done we think we'll engage / it) that you can execute work equal to any House in Lancashire--in this case / the yellow must be fast
