DescriptionCoarse linen, embroidered with architectural motifs and stylized trees in polychrome silk and metallic threads. Condition: good. Entire textile possibly bleached. Several slight, yellowish stains still visible.
ProvenancePurchased about 1922 by the mother of Dr. Zekiye Suleyman Eglar in Tiflis, Georgian Republic, where she lived; inherited by Dr. Eglar from her mother's estate prior to World War II and brought to the USA; inherited in 1983 from Dr. Eglar's estate by her nephew, Fazal Chowdhry, the donor.
