DescriptionGround: cream colored linen warp, silk weft. Middle of towel woven with heavy silk weft, ends with fine silk weft. Design: across ends, conventional angular birds and flowers worked with cream white and pinkish orange silk and tarnished gold thread (gilded silver wound on yellow silk) and outlines of neutral faded silk. Across each end outlines of drawn work weaving and twisted warp fringe. Very much worn.
