Double-faced silk satin

Geoffrey Beene was an iconic, award-winning American fashion designer known for the simplicity of his luxurious designs. He created haute couture for women that married comfort with luxury. Beene's clients included Lady Bird Johnson, Pat Nixon, Nancy Reagan, Faye Dunaway, and Glenn Close. This sleek, modern white silk satin trapeze gown with a neck ruffle at the center back and train highlights his impeccable styling, architectural sensibility, and technical dexterity—making his receipt of an honorary doctorate from the Rhode Island School of Design come as no surprise.
