DescriptionThis is one oval, black faience disc with flat bottom and convex top and a glassy glaze. The top has deep parallel ridges and there is a small circular drilled out indentation in the center of the flat base, possibly for attaching with peg or adhesive (see 13.3880-13.3898; and 72.2813) This is a wig appliqué for a coffin. The striped pattern on top is meant to imitate hair.
