Panels of undyed raffia weave joined to form a skirt. Dark brown raffia cloth appliqués in abstract shapes pattern the entire body of the skirt; appliquéd area also plain weave. A wide band attached along one edge forms the lower border and is decorated with appliqués similar to those of the body but in a more spacious, linear arrangement. Appliqués are sewn with unusually fine and even stitching in reddish-brown raffia that gives the design added dimension.
