DescriptionRectangular reddish-brown, indigo blue and natural ecru cotton cloth. The main design elements are a wide central band of indigo blue with narrow stripes of red, orange, light blue and natural ecru warp ikat patterning. On either side is a wide band of natural ecru on indigo blue supplemental warp yarn patterning, one of a simple grid, the other of repeating lozenge motifs. At each border there is a wide band of reddish-brown and indigo blue repeating geometric motifs created by the warp ikat technique and narrow stripes of orange, red, blue and natural ecru. The piece is made up of two lengths hand stitched together and has unfinished crosswise ends.
