Parsi woman’s tunic of dark blue silk gauze with overall design of various birds, flying and alighting on flowering branches and border design on neck, arm holes, across shoulders and at bottom edge of floral and bird motifs embroidered in various shades of gold silk; neck binding and ties of pale gold plain-weave silk. Probably embroidered by Chinese artists living in the port city of Surat in the state of Gujarat.
