Head, most of the neck, parts of the feet, and the edges of the plinth have been broken away. The surfaces are covered with a crusty brown calcite patina.
The young man was presumably set against a wall or flanking a roadway, for the statue has a flat back. He wears a chiton and ample himation, the latter arranged so as to create a fold about the middle. The right hand holds a vase, and an object, perhaps a jar or pyxis, appears in the left.
