Directed by Catherine Corsini (France, 2018, 135 min.). Digital. French with English subtitles.

In 1950s Châteauroux, a young office clerk named Rachel (Virginie Efira) meets Philippe (Niels Schneider), a well-educated man from a wealthy family. After an intense but short-lived romance, a daughter is born. Over the following decades, their lives will be shaped by love in many forms: the unconditional love between a mother and her daughter, the impossible love of a woman for a man who rejects her, and the desperate love of a daughter for an absent and abusive father. This tenderly tragic drama examines how trauma is passed down through generations, and how confronting it can help us to heal.

Also screens on Saturday, July 27 at 4 pm.
