Class tickets include general admission to the MFA for the student and one accompanying grown-up.

Instructor: Liam Jones and Yael Saiger

Class Schedule

January 5, 2023—Costumes and Cosplay: Hats

Hats! Who makes them? Who wears them? Discover how the style of a hat can tell us a little more about the person wearing it. Then design a hat that perfectly embodies your style and personality using felt, feathers, ribbon, and mixed media.

January 12, 2023—Costumes and Cosplay: Armor

Both functional and fabulous, armor was a necessary fashion staple throughout history. Take a look at depictions of armor in the Museum’s collections then design some of your own!

January 19, 2023—Costumes and Cosplay: Capes and Cloaks

Capes and cloaks offer protection from the elements, but are also a great way to add style and flair! Take a look at examples in the Museum’s collections then design and decorate one of your own.

January 26, 2023—Costumes and Cosplay: Accessories

No costume is complete without accessories! Search the galleries for inspiration then create some amazing accessories of your own using wire, beads, and more!

Supplies are provided.
