This online class combines fundamentals of drawing—line, gesture, shading, texture, color, proportion, and composition—with exercises intended to develop each student’s unique visual language. Students participate in a variety of fun and challenging drawing activities designed to help them recognize and unlock their personal artistic style. Students draw inspiration from the diverse array of artworks and explore themes of the MFA collections.

About the Instructor
Karl Stephan holds a Masters in Art Education from the Tufts School of the Museum of Fine Arts. Expert in traditional and contemporary techniques of drawing and other two-dimensional media, Karl is a Medici Artist at Tufts and a well-regarded curator. In addition to his popular museum drawing classes for teens, Karl teaches privately in his Cambridge studio.
