In this online class, explore the fundamentals of drawing by focusing on line, gesture, shading, texture, composition, proportion, and perspective. Learn a variety of techniques to improve observational skills while working creatively from an array of reference images, still life and personal objects.

About the Instructor

Marley Slade is an artist, illustrator, and designer from Connecticut. She studied fine art and computer science at Connecticut College. Before moving to Boston Marley was traveling the world and working as a freelance graphic designer. She loves creating large scale charcoal portraits, digital illustrations, animation, and augmented reality. When Marley’s not busy creating you can find her roller skating or reading on the beach!
