This special evening begins with a visit to the Impressionism galleries, where the instructor will introduce a selection of paintings by Monet, their vivid, light-filled canvases are perfect examples of his dazzling use of color and varied brushwork at this period. You’ll view the work from an artist’s perspective, as your instructor describes the painter’s approach. On our way to the studio, stop at Taste Café to pick up wine, coffee, or something cold to take with you to the art-space next door.

In the second hour, the instructor will introduce a painting demonstration and guide you as you prepare your palette and learn about color theory.  Experiment with different brushes, mark making, and working on canvas.  Bring a friend or make a few as you discover some of the excitement of painting.

Supplies will be provided.
