Learn technical and aesthetic aspects of what constitutes a good picture. Students examine photography to understand composition, the effects of light, and color while exploring the MFA Collection. Learn different photography genres such as portraits, still life, documentary and more to inspire your own series of compelling images. Students must provide their own digital camera or device with photo capabilities such as a smart phone.

Please bring a nut-free lunch, snacks, utensils, water bottle, extra masks and picnic blanket.

About the Instructor

Fran Osborn Blaschke is a photographer who graduated from the New England School of Photography professional program. His artistic vision is influenced and inspired by his family, science, astronomy, music, and poetry. His photographs have been shown at various venues in the New England area, including the Photographic Resource Center, the Danforth Museum of Art and the Griffin Museum of Photography.
