Wearable Art
Did you know the clothes we wear are art? Take a closer look at wearable art and textiles from around the Museum and learn how they are made.
Activity: Print with foam to create a decal or patch on fabric.

Ages 6–8
Wax Resist on Clay
Learn how ceramic pottery is created and how artists apply designs to each piece. Search for clues while learning about some of the techniques artists used while taking a look at examples in the Museum’s collections.
Activity: Create a no-fire wax-resist flower pot.

Ages 9–11
Hey, What’s in There? Containers
Take a closer look at some of the containers found in the Museum’s collections and follow clues to figure out their intended use.
Activity: Sculpt a canopic jar out of clay.

Teens
Games
Discover objects from the Museum’s collections that are associated with games from ancient cultures all over the world.
Activity: Create a game using paper, cardboard, scissors, model magic, and mixed media.

Tickets must be purchased in advance, and are only available for sale online. Tickets for the current week’s class are only available for sale until noon on Monday.
