Kékszakállú (Bluebeard) directed by Gastón Solnicki (Argentina, 2017, 72 min.). In Spanish with English subtitles.

Inspired by Bela Bartok’s opera Bluebeard’s Castle, this dreamy and exquisite film paints a portrait of several young women at the threshold of adulthood, each feeling her way through various crises born of the insular comforts of class privilege. Bluebeard unspools at a leisurely place, weaving an alternating milieux of work and repose in Buenos Aires and Punta del Este.

“Inviting and approachable.” – Scott Tobias, Variety

“A gentle reminder that cinema itself is young and full of possibilities.” – Sight & Sound
