Directed by François Ozon (France, 2017, 107 min.). Digital. French with English subtitles.
François Ozon (Franz, Swimming Pool) directs this erotic thriller about a fragile young woman named Chloé, who falls in love with her psychoanalyst, Paul. After they move in together, Chloé discovers a dark side of Paul that both repulses and intrigues her. With a wildly escalating plot and grotesquely beautiful images of the human body, Double Lover invokes horror classics like Rosemary’s Baby and David Cronenberg’s Dead Ringers.
