Join New England artist Allison Newsome who creates architectural sculptures to discuss Della Robbia’s artwork.  She will focus on the use of flowers and fruits to create festooned garlands framing roundels and niches, which follow a long tradition of ancient rites symbolizing loyalty, dedication, memory and the transition to eternal life.  The sculpting techniques of combining press molds with additive imagery will also be discussed.
