Talks in the Galleries

Explore art, history, and culture in the MFA galleries with engaging speakers. Join MFA staff, including Museum curators, conservators, and educators, along with local scholars and artists for weekly talks on topics ranging from special exhibitions to a look behind the scenes.

Free with Museum admission

Guided Tours

Join a free guided tour (several offered daily) to explore highlights from the Museum’s many different collections. Tours last between 30 and 45 minutes.

Creative Residency

Watch and join in as artists interpret the collection through our artist in residence program. The program returns in Fall 2019 with Improv in the Galleries, when performers from the ImprovBoston National Touring Company use the MFA collection for inspiration to create an unforgettable experience.

Meet an artist, dancer, or musician, and discover their inspirations and process.

Artist Toolbox Cart

Discover techniques and handle the tools artists use; view demonstration pieces right in the galleries and hear from knowledgeable staff.

Drawing in the Galleries

Engage your artistic side. Drop in and sketch from live models and Museum objects. Drawing materials and instruction available.
